Storage Historical Background

Storage is a time and space benefit added to the product, that because the real value of the food grains and other products is always realized by what is obtained by the end consumer, regardless of the time or the place that separates production and consumption processes.

Good Storage tends to realize the following: -

¬         Strategic objectives related to the country’s food security.

¬         Minimize the cost through optimum stock and optimum time.

¬         Better prices locally and abroad. One of the SRCO objectives is to: Expand the capacity in the country so as to meet the expected increase in production and to satisfy the needs of the market.  

Current available Storage by SRCO

Silo aspect:-Because of the recurrent food gaps, the SRCO has directed all its activities to food security and grain buffer stock building in order to reduce hunger and disaster, recently the Ministry of Finance & National Economy represented by SRCO has started to implement the Rabak Silo its sized 100 thousand ton in White Nile State 260 kilometer south Khartoum.
